Shakeena Siberians is proud of its "Happy Howling Huskies" bred for style, movement, temperament and quality. Our Siberians, recognized for their outstanding movement in the conformation ring, typify the standard of the Siberian breed. Our Siberians great temperaments make them outstanding Siberian ambassadors.
Shakeena Siberians got its name by combining the name of two kennel sisters, Shanna and Keena. We established ourselves with the purchase of our first Siberian Husky in 1989. We have moved to Brentwood (Northern California) where our kennel population has quietly grown to over 14 Siberian Huskies.
Our kennel goal is to produce the highest quality Siberian through sound and selective breeding. All our Siberians are certified free of eye disease by the Canine Eye Certification Foundation (CERF) and free of hip dysplasia by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, Inc. (OFA). None of our Siberians are considered for breeding until they have all their certifications.
The welfare of our puppies is always a top priority for us. Beginning with the day they are whelped in our bedroom, our puppies are socialized through love, gentle handling and increased challenging living experiences. Puppies are introduced into the main kennel at about four weeks while their socialization continues with the main kennel population, increased exposure to outside conditions, and more frequent contact with human "strangers".
We are active members of the Siberian Husky Club of America, the International Siberian Husky Club and are former members of the Mt. Hamilton Siberian Husky Club and the Northern California Siberian Husky Club. We welcome all inquiries about our breed and will always spend as much time as desired to answer questions and discuss the secrets of our fabulous Siberian Husky breed.
